The Levant, the newsletter on Middle Eastern Studies, as the title shows, is a blog on Middle Eastern Studies: The History, Culture, Geopolitics and Economics  of a vast part of the planet spreading across the deserts of North Africa to the blue waves of the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean, which has contributed so much to the development of ancient and current history. One might say that no concept in the geopolitics of the world has been talked about as much as the Middle East.

However, no real definition exists of the Middle East. There is no real unifying concept that can define it.
